Episode #8: Living Fit With Megan Johnson McCullough

Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult.

That’s the message I take from my conversation with master personal trainer Megan Johnson McCullough of Every BODY’s Fit in Oceanside, California. Most people won’t ever aspire to competing in figure or bodybuilding like Megan does, so there’s no need to get to extremely low levels of body fat or to devote your life to training. Keep it simple, eat right most of the time, celebrate your progress.

That’s the basic recipe.

When I started this podcast, I wanted to bring on guests who could not only inspire but educate. It’s about living happy and healthy, whether that means living your personal dream or improving your fitness. It all contributes to peace of mind that creates happiness. I can’t say enough about how working out has helped me in my life. It’s given me confidence, and at times when I’ve felt anxious or powerless, the gym has given me a place to focus and exert control. I recommend it to anyone who needs positive direction and an outlet.

As Megan says in the episode, the times when you feel most stressed are the times that working out needs to be your highest priority. Too often, people let their health slide under those circumstances, which sets them back physically and mentally. It can be hard to get your routine back together after it falls apart.

Megan talks about this and a lot more in this episode. She’s a wealth of practical information about training, nutrition, and fitness myths. The podcast gives a nice introduction to her philosophy. If you want to know more, follow her Instagram account, where you will find great tips and advice on healthy living. You will also find funny pictures and videos of her pug, Steve Nash, which will do your heart good even if you never exercise in your life.

I hope this episode inspires you to prioritize your physical health as part of creating your best self. Enjoy!
